Thanksgiving in China is another holiday in which the foreigners tend to flock together to celebrate. After all it is an American holiday, not a Chinese one. So we had a potluck dinner at one of our classmate's houses. It was very American in the sense that it was celebrated with friends and family and there was way too much food to know what to do with. However, it was not only different friends and family, but also different soil to get fat on, so still different then we remember.

This past weekend I visited Dali with two classmates. The first day we climbed one of the surrounding mountains. It was a long and tiring hike that took all day and by the end we were debating why we were so excited about it in the beginning. However, I think it is safe to say the consensus was that it was still worth the view. The next day we did some shopping and visited one of our friends who lives and works in Dali.
