Yesterday Ben, Ming and I got lunch and then went to the Buddhist temple near our dorm. While there, we met a boy named Tony who had been teaching in China for two years and is going home soon. So we invited him to go to the Kunming zoo with us and Ming and I ended up spending the whole day with him. After the zoo, we went shopping around his hostel and got more food. What was really interesting about the zoo was that we didn't see any zoo keepers around (which might just be a difference between US and Chinese zoos). We also saw an old woman with bound feet, which I wasn't expecting because I didn't realize that still went on (even if just for the oldest generation still alive).
